My name is Kirsty-ann Johnstone and I was diagnosed with functional neurological disorder in 2020 following stroke like symptoms. 

You may not have heard of it as I hadn't either. 
In simple terms, my brain doesn't send the correct signals to my body anymore causing speech issues, balance problems, tremors, insomnia and chronic pain amongst other symptoms. 

I was advised to find a relaxing distraction from the daily symptoms and well, here I am sharing my creations. 

Being self taught, art was a challenge but it has become my sanctuary. It has allowed me to take my mind elsewhere when I'm having a particularly bad day. 
Over the course of the last few years, I've had to adapt many things in my life but art has given me such joy and a sense of purpose again.
